Blast from the Past

The faded look across this winter window
Reflects the enchanting memories from the past
Trapped in the midst of the forlorn droplets
I can see them disappearing fast.

The innocent pride over a bruised knee
The incredible joy in the windows we broke
Replacing these emotions in a breathtaking pace
Are the horrors of a rat race around the clock.

A halt at "thadi" for all the answers
Clinical disregard for semester grades
Violently cut is that nonchalant attitude
Too sharp are today's blades.

Ensconced among the din of chaos
Resides solitude in an invisible cloak
Haunted are the lanes of memory
And ghosts from the past don't smoke.
